  Historie	Marlin married his wife, Janice Kind, on November 5, 1953 and they started dairy farming. He had numerous other jobs along the way – working at a packing house, a mechanic at Cenex, working on the new "35" road construction, owner of Svea Store & Flowers, groundskeeper at Pierce County Fairgrounds, and market gardening. Marlin was a 4-H leader for 28 years, 16 as general leader. He loved umpiring 4-H softball games. He and his wife also enjoyed sponsoring girls slow-pitch teams and played in Ellsworth and River Falls Coed teams.
