Otto Jeldness and Walter Bowne were the first two men to go to Crater Lake on skis, starting from Prospect. Mr. Jeldness made his skis himself. After he died the skis were donated to the Jacksonville museum.
Otto Jeldness was the nephew of famous ski champion- Olaus Jeldness.
